Did you know we have been eating cherries in the UK since the Middle Ages? They are a quintessential part of our national diet and we have growers in the UK who have been farming cherries across the generations. Cherries are packed with health benefits including being especially high in polyphenols, a large group of plant chemicals that help fight cellular damage, reduce inflammation, and promote overall health.
A much loved summer fruit which must be enjoyed during its (quite) short season from June to September. We grow several varieties with distinct colouring and flavour from the brightly coloured Merchant to the deeply, almost purple Kordia cherries. Loved by everyone in the family, but try and avoid dripping juice on your white t-shirt!
Berry People come in all sorts of flavours; some are growers, experts in their field, dedicated to growing genuinely world-class fruit right here in the UK, from Kent to Aberdeenshire; others are chefs, cooks and foodies who appreciate using top-quality berries in their dishes; and others are people who just want to feed them and their families the most delicious and healthy fruit they can.
What unites them is a love of the finest, freshest, juiciest British strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries (and cherries!)
Whichever group you belong in, you’re welcome here, among the Berry People.
